Smart City Consultancy attends BT School engagement event - I Belong: Tech for a Sustainable World.
Throughout the event the Ohmio Autonomous shuttle was demonstrated to participating students.
This event was themed around sustainability and green tech hosted at BT, Adastral Park and was a collaboration between BT Group, Eastern Education Group, Suffolk Computing Hub, STEM Learning & Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils.
It was aimed at engaging students, particularly girls, in thinking about how technology all around us can help support a more sustainable world. It was an experiential day seeing technology in action, having a go at programming a self-driving vehicle (Edison robots), coding a smart agricultural system (micro:bits), as well as thinking about how to create an environment where all kinds of people can enjoy themselves and feel like they belong.
Over 200 students from 15 schools attended across the two days, hopefully inspiring and exciting the innovators of the future, whilst also provoking some thought about some real-world diversity challenges.
